Xbox 360 to Pack Some Serious Power

According to a ATI employee the Xbox 360 will be much more powerful than even their upcoming R5XX series of graphic cards, and that their PC cards will not match the Xbox 360 on power until their next generation of graphic cards scheduled for next year. However, this was not an official statement but rather a comment from the guy who was in charge of the ATI demo stand at the Siggraph 2005 show. The 720P resolution Rubi demo was running on the latest XB360 developer kit and rendering characters with up to 120,000 polygons at blazing speed. At its peek the demo was pushing one million polygons. He commented further that one should focus on the power of rendering when it comes to the XB360 and that today even the most powerful gaming PC cannot match its rendering power.
