Naked Sky Entertainment today announced that RoboBlitz will be available to gamers through the Xbox Live Arcade on Xbox 360 in Spring 2006. RoboBlitz is a fast-paced action game featuring puzzle-solving and unique physics-based weapons. Players blast through 15+ levels of high-intensity action as Blitz, a multi-talented robot on a mission to save its factory from a band of invading mechanical brains. "With RoboBlitz, Naked Sky brings to Xbox Live Arcade an enjoyable action title combined with imaginative design," said Ross Erickson, Xbox Live Arcade Games Portfolio Manager. "It's terrific to see a game that delivers both thrilling gameplay and cutting-edge technology that really demonstrates the power of Xbox 360." RoboBlitz combines the power of the Unreal Engine 3 and Ageia PhysX to deliver a new gaming experience. The core gameplay is supported by advanced physics simulation, which offers players a world built entirely from the latest in game technology and robot control theory. Remarkably, RoboBlitz does all this while having a total download size under 50MB, thereby enabling its distribution via Xbox Live Arcade. Xbox Live Arcade delivers full-featured downloadable games on both Xbox videogame and entertainment system from Microsoft and Xbox 360. "Releasing RoboBlitz through the Xbox Live Arcade on Xbox 360 puts us at the heart of digital distribution," said Naked Sky CEO, Tian Mu. "Xbox Live Arcade is a new, cost-effective way for independent developers like Naked Sky to get our console games to market." Wonder how much it'll cost? Unregistered - Yep! 12.05.2005 10:55 Probably .50 cents or something. I wouldnt count out .49 cents also... omegaheat 12.05.2005 11:26 How is it possible that a game using the Unreal Engine3 technology could be downloadable at 50mb, but other developers are claiming to fill up disc space with their titles. Is this some kind of ultra compression technique. I now understand what J. Allard meant by some developers being sloppy with the Xbox360 hardware, and that compression would be better soon. In my opinion, this doesn't support the argument that Sony's blue-ray disc storage capacity will make games any better. It's just another one of their marketing schemes to get the word 'blue-ray' in households. Developers only want more disc storage for the use of pre-rendered video which I don't care for. It seems like Xbox-Live will win the next-gen war on its own. omegaheat 12.05.2005 11:53 Did I mention that the Xbox360 storage capacity is three times larger than current generation games. Unregistered - asdf 12.05.2005 12:35 #4 I completely agree with you. That makes me really excited about getting my system in....December or January or something. Unregistered - ninja0327 12.05.2005 19:20 i thought that Ageia PhysX couldn't work with xbox360 ???????? FreeMonk 12.05.2005 20:48 I WANT JETPAC ON X-BOX LIVE ARCADE!!!! Rare teased us with it on the beginning of Perfect Dark Zero where the Jetpac bloke carries the 'R' sign in Rare, but no Jetpac game! I nearly came in my pants when I thought I could play that game again. It was one of my favourite childhood games on the Spectrum ZX. GIVE US JETPAC GOD DAMIT! FreeMonk 12.05.2005 20:55 Oh, and to the point of the topic. That's the good thing about Arcade and Live!. It gives a chance for some small developers to get there foot in, and provide us with some classic games. The gaming industry is riddled with Capcom, Square-Enix, Tecmo, EA etc etc who spend millions and millions of dollars on games, whereas small developers get shutdown, and the talent goes away, which is a shame, because we wouldn't be here today without those small companies. It's all about the graphics, and if it doesn't look good, don't bother. Well from the screenshots, it looks like they've got a great looking game, using the power of the 360, which means that it is as easy to program for as developers have been saying. If a small company can produce a game looking that nice, just imagine what the big boys can do! Unregistered - Ken Katuragi 12.06.2005 11:20 Yep me again, Oh goodie more stuff but how about the noise the 360 makes when running a XB 360 game that drive sounds like a jet engine. Why not have developers also offer the software online so that the people who do have the HD can enjoy a good game without having to turn on the volume just to muffle the sound of that noisy drive At the moment you really need to buy a 56" TV because only this way you can sit far enough not to hear the drive roar above everything else in the room FreeMonk 12.06.2005 19:16 What are you on about Ken!?? My X-Box 360 doesn't sounds like a jet engine at all. If anything it's a whole lot quieter than when the PS2 is reading disks. I think you've been reading too many Sony Fanboys sites, and not listen to one yourself, because a Sony fanboy wouldn't own a 360!? Would they!? Nahhhh! Unregistered - Evan 12.06.2005 20:25 I wonder how many times this was compressed lol.. anyways yes i agree with u. We do not need blu-ray just yet.. soon we will tho and im sure its coming out too early. Unregistered - Ken Katuragi 12.07.2005 03:24 @Freemonk: My name is spelled differently so maybe because my name is supposed to be like this. That it may sound like the Sony guy is not my fault but that does not make me a Sony fanboy. I love my X-box and live and I can tell you first hand my Clan is about 45 man strong and we all have one or 2 360 machines and all say as soon as they put in a 360 game it is very noisy which makes sense in a way but still very noisy. I am not just saying this out of the blue but first hand info Unregistered - merkuk 12.07.2005 06:52 anyone know how to play call of duty on line with 2 people playing on the same xbox360-- me & mate have to profile on the machine --can we play on line at the same time --- thanx Add Comment |
