Take a gander at these gorgeous new screenshots of the latest instalment of the long-running fighter. The next-gen Virtua Fighter was demoed at this year's E3 show as a possible Xbox 360 project, but Sega has offered no official word on the game's console future since. Currently the game is penned for an arcade release only, but it's likely that the fighter will inevitably find it's way onto a next-gen console somewhere.

JsonHenry 12.16.2005 10:32 I think it is because it is Virtual Fighter that you are not impressed. Unregistered - chronical 12.16.2005 12:51 im not impress either. i like dead or alive alot more omegaheat 12.16.2005 14:52 The stages appear to be too open and seem to lack interactive backgrounds that could affect fighting. I like the fact that Dead or Alive's backgrounds contain obstacles that the fighters can hurdle over and attack at the same time. I have yet to see if VF5 has this feature. The fighters haven't changed their wardrobes much either, but the Rey Mysterio clone looks cool. Now if only we could convince Itagaki to bring back Tecmo Wrestling. Damn, that game was fun. omegaheat 12.16.2005 14:58 For those of you who don't know. Tecmo Wrestling was on Nintendo's 8-bit console. There were only two games that I liked for the system; Tecmo Wrestling and Offroad. If you're a connoissuer of videogames, you would be familiar with these titles. Second, if you knew anything about VF you would love the game. In fact, IGN's top Dead or Alive player claims that the new VF5, which you can play in Japan, is far and away better than any fighting game he's ever played. So just relax, it will be awesome. Unregistered - jACK 12.16.2005 15:59 THIS game looks very boring! They need a mortal combat game for xbox360! The blood would looks so cool! Just like from Fight Night Round 3 hehehehe! Unregistered - virtuafighter 12.16.2005 18:06 I think the game looks fantastic and true to the series roots... and dont forget that this is obviously an unfinished product. PDZ taught me that games really do come together at the end of production. Because of Virtua Fighter we were blessed with DOA...that alone ish cause to like it. Seriously though...VF has always had very true-to life techniques(with the exception of a few) and styles. The only thing lacking in this game I believe is the characters aren't as interesting or a cool as other fighters..especially DOA. The DOA engine..especially DOA1 was based on the Virtua Fighter 2 engine as you can see the similarities in graphics and control scheme. I say is technically the best because its the most technicall fighting game out...the learning curve is extremely high..and alot of time must be placed into a single character to truly master him. I can't wait for this game to be release. BUT DOA4 comes out this week......MUST HAVE DOA4..GIMME NOW...I DON'T GET IT..SOMEONE WILL HAVE TO PAY!!!! Add Comment |
