In an interview posted on the popular technology blog engadget, Bill Gates confirms that Halo 3 is in development and that it is looking phenomenal.“it's up to the team when they want to ship [Halo 3], and they're going to take their time to make that a super great product. So even we don't know when that will come out. That's one of many games that are just phenomenal that are in the works, but it's up to the artists to do it when they feel good about it. Of course most of you already "knew" that Halo 3 is in development, even though Bungie have been tight lipped about the game, and in-directly denying its existence. However, Bill Gates comments clearly confirms that the game is in development. Hardcore Halo fans are of course going to claim that Halo 3 exists only when Bungie themselves say it does, but for the rest of us I think a statement from Bill Gates (like the one above) will do just fine. The question that is still left unanswered is if Halo 3 is the next game to be released by Bungie. Many are now speculating that Bungie might also be working on a new original project, and being one of the most money strong development studios in the industry, they certainly are capable of developing two games simultaneously if they ever wanted to. Xbox360 and PS3 are the systems of the future that are going to deliver Next Generation gameplay in there games with movie like graphics and gameplay, just look at Fight Night : Round 3, that game look like a real Boxing match with life like characters. What about that game call Killing Day on the PS3 side that looks like the next big thing in First Person Shooters. So take your head out of the sand and smell the coffee, this is reality as we speak. Release Halo3 with the movie in 2007.....if Bungie did start with Halo3 after the second one the game is only in development for 1 year? A 2006 release is not enough time to get a killer Halo game for the X360. Look at the making of Halo2.......i don't like the "deadline cuts" of the game. The X360 needs something like the Killzone3 trailer on PS3. We all know that the Killzone 3 trailer is not for real but i think 50-75% of that quality is possible on next gen systems. X360 needs a game that blows out all the power of the console. There are only 2 Halo games possible on the X360 and Halo3 needs to show off 70% of the total X360 power. Islandkiwi 01.09.2006 18:08 I am constantly astonished that people were disappointed by Halo2. Yes, it ended abruptly. But it had to end at some point, and I thought it left a hell of a cliffhanger. Halo2 still gets played every day, and considering how many games we play (all of 'em) that's really saying something. I'm glad they're taking their time with this one. I hope Bungie releases something different prior to Halo3 too, it will help keep the guys creative. 32 -

The game was so great and so raved about that the second one was wanted even more. Then the second one met all that was excpected of it. The campaign missions are awesome. The multiplayer is the best that I have ever played(except for James Bond Golden Eye for N64)Now with new and better technology its only expected that this one will be even better. 40 -
FreeMonk 01.09.2006 22:16 My guess is that we won't hear or see much of Halo 3 now until May at the E3 Show. That is going to be Microsoft BIG BIG announcement. They only problem with that is that Microsoft might get overshadowed again like last year, because I bet my skinny white ass that Sony will have PLAYABLE PS3 kiosks which will crap all over Microsoft's presentation. Now don't get me wrong here, I'm no Sony Fanboy, I own a 360 and love it (Call of Duty 2 RULES!), but it's the truth. Plus, my other guess is that Sony might then get overshadowed by Nintendo. IF Nintendo finally get out playable versions of there console with this weird controller that shows uniqueness and graphical power, it could upset Sony's attempts to woo the crowd. Nintendo is the dark horse here. We know nothing of it's graphical power, we know nothing of release titles or third party support. We only know that the have a unique controller that's totally different to everything else and could change the face of gaming, plus a 20+ year back catalogue of games to play. But mark my words, WHEN Halo 3 get's shown at E3 (and it will), it's going to crap all over the Killzone Trailer, all over the MGS3 Trailer, and anything that Sony will offer to show. UNLESS Sony announce a Final Fantasy 7 remake for the PS3 and show footage. That will screw Microsoft over Bigtime. Halo 3 will be great though. Anyhow here are the things I didn’t like and hope they are rectified! Story! Was weak and felt thrown together… Playing as the elite! Yawn… The cloaking device didn’t last long enough!!! Many things promised weren’t delivered, I am talking a sprint button, the plethora of vehicles and the fact all ships and vehicles were meant to be destroyable! Too short! Was set on a “halo” now I realise that is the title so back off, but the original deceiving trailer was on earth and was quite excited about that fact. The earth level on Halo 2 was ok. Right I think that’s it. Anyhow please don’t think me a hater the first Halo is my second fav game of all time and still played the 2nd to death but when a game like Halo comes out and they offer so much for the sequel who can blame me for being disappointed, still loved my xbox and love the 360 more! By the by saw the first in game shots for PS3 yesterday they were on virtual fighter and well all I can say is that they aren’t quite as amazing as promised. I have seen all the pretty tech demos for killzone and so on and are very nice but not in game and these were and are poo!!! 59 -

extra thingsEmergencyday 01.10.2006 13:41 I hope that in Halo3 they bring back the little things that made it so much fun to replay the original or part 1 over and over again! Here are a couple of examples that to me were missing in part 2. 1. How come in Halo2 you didn't start off in space were you left off in halo1? 2. In halo 1 whenever you killed your guys everyone would turn on you, but in 2 it only happens in one part of the game and doesn't last to long. 3. On part 1 you had more allies by your side than part 2 which only gives you 4 at a time. 4. Xboxlive co-op was missing and I hope they add that this time also! These are all little complaints but overall Halo 2 is with out a doubt still better than any other shooter to date! 63 -

Bungie, right now, could make a trailer that looked like the best-looking movie out there! Guess what...they're not going to. They SHOW their gameplay with one of their representatives standing before the crowd, controller in hand, playing the real thing. And don't say they didn't either. They did it with Halo 1 AND Halo 2.
