The father of the Halo series, Jason Jones, is extremely interested in working on the Nintendo Revolution, according to the latest issue of EGM. This hasn't been made public it seems because Microsoft has kept the interview hidden from the public. In the interview Mr. Jones talks about a FPS on the system and some of the great ideas he had for it.

Halo3Sniper01 02.07.2006 08:16 Doesn't MS own Bungie so how is JAson going to work for Nintendo. It seems kind impossible Unregistered - SLIENT 02.07.2006 08:52 Halo Is a XBOX & XBOX 360 GAME IT WILL NEVER LEAVE THE CONSULE and besides microsoft would not allow it. HE MAY BE BRANCHING OUT TO NINTENDO FOR SOMTHING diffent. Islandkiwi 02.07.2006 09:00 So he'd like to make a Rev game...I see no problem with that, and I'd be suprised if MS did. They would make money and increase interest in Bungie's games, which would make people purchase the 360. It would also put MS into a business relationship with Nintendo, and that may prove fruitful in the future. PAUL CERULA 02.07.2006 09:17 Can't anybody else notice how flawed the revolution remote is. Imagine having a dumbed down version of an FPS or sports game. No matter how precise they can get the remote there's still a big similarity with the duck hunt gun. It's gonna be like playing on an arcade game. FPS's with other game genres just won't work no matter how much they hone the rev. remote. Unregistered - LOL 02.07.2006 09:22 After Halo 3 they can make w/e they want for the Revolution, BUT HALO is own by MSFT and will NOT be released on any other system! Jason better watch it or he will end up working for NINTENDO if MSFT FIRES HIS ASS. Unregistered - Leon 02.07.2006 10:41 I know this is a little off topic but to me its obvious: What is the point of having a wireless controler if it's still wired to your other hand? I'm pretty sure that the appeal of a wireless controler is NOT just the fact that your daughter wont trip over it and disconect it. IF that guy really said that then he deserves to get fired but it would be wise for microsoft not to do it right now so that they dont look bad like sony did when they fired their employee for saying that the 360 is better. Vivicious 02.07.2006 11:02 IF you're referring to the Nintendo Rev controller, it is completely wireless. The other thing is just one of the add-ons that will become available for connecting to the controller for games like FPS. Unregistered - ProMinx 02.07.2006 11:42 Jones can always leave Bungie. Obviously he can't take any of Microsoft's IP with him, but they can't stop him from going. They'll probably just try to pay him off not to go anywhere. Besides...MS has already stated that Nintendo isn't even a real competitor in the market anymore...so no real harm in letting Jones take a break for some unique work after Halo 3... Unregistered - leon 02.07.2006 13:03 dear oh dear, why would he want to work on the rev, its not exactly a powerfull spec console is it, i wouldnt have minded if he said he wanted to work on the ps3,but the rev....dear o dear (shakes head in dissmay) the n64 was a flop, the game cube was a flop, and so will the rev(some 9 year old will get one and some jap people will, ) but i cant see nintendo in this so called race any more. at this moment in time i am even wondering why i got an xbox360. no freeking good games, i just wish they would release ghost recon aw. i just hope the ps3 can deliver what they are promising, cos so far MS are starting to p1ss me off. Unregistered - mutt 02.07.2006 13:26 Its the controller that intrugues him. He is a great FPS developer, and the Rev's controller will supposedly change the way we play FPS games. Whoever said the REV didn't have the specs of the other two is right but who cares? He is doing it for the controller, not because of how much RAM is in the system. And whoever said MS should fire him really doesn't know alot about business, are you implying that the creator of "HALO" should be fired? I don't care if he knocked up Bill Gates wife, he will not be fired, oh yeah the sony employee was a lonely artist, not quite the same job position. To the "Duck Hunt" guy, that was like 1985 or something, this is Next-gen, you can't compare the original Nintendo to a console that isn't even out, the precision will be greatly improved I believe, and everyone who has actually used the controller loves it. Time to face it all you Fanboys, each system will offer something the others won't like it or not. Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, oooohh yeah, I will have 3 ladies in my bed next year, sorry all you monogamos kids getting the same action every night! PAUL CERULA 02.07.2006 13:49 #11, okay look I made the duck hunt reference because it's an example of casting a point on a tv screen with a controller LOOK, imagine using the finest remote tools possible and think how your going to have to aim around that projection with a controller. It's like using a laser pointer to aim in an FPS. NO matter how exact and smooth they can get it, the controller won't work in FPS's. remoteXimpaler 02.07.2006 14:29 normally, i dont care what people say on this site, but you, you just make me mad! holy crap man,how DARE you say that the N64 was a flop!!!! did you not play it when you were a kid!?! it was simply amazing!! as for the 360 games, theres a thing called live arcade!!! get geometery wars or marble blast ultra!! download a demo!!!! stop complaining and be thankful that you have one!! call of duty 2 is perfect and condemned was good. full auto is going to be so much fun, fight night is awesome, graw will be amazing, the outfit is going to be cool, so STFU and leave!!!!!!!!!!!!! Unregistered - leon 02.07.2006 15:38 yes i did have a n64 and the only good game (imo) was mario kart had many a stoned sesh with my mates on that, turok was good too, but other games....er..cant think of any that lit my fire. and i have down loaded geometry wars reto evolved. and yes its good, freeking fantastic infact. but thats all i have oh i downloaded the fn3 demo and that rules. pgr3 was a bit soul less (in the single player dept) cod2 was too short not a fan of doa, and nfsmw is for hoody kidz who drink toomuch cola :) my 360 acts more like a dvd player at the moment. you cant deny that there is a real lull in the games release at the moment??. we just keep getting tempted with videos of pray, ghost recon, gears of war. i wish they would stop releasing trailers and get the games done. ghost recon is slated for a march release, so is oblivion. what till then ???? if i got you mad i must have touched a raw nerve.?? and i still stand by that the n64 was a flop. it might have been a good console but it was still a flop. remoteXimpaler 02.07.2006 16:01 i really appreciate that you responded in a nice civilized manner, and i respect you for that i over-reacted about everything, sorry and as for the games, yes, there is definately a shortage and im not the happiest person, but what can one do? personaly, im just glad developers are taking there time to make sure the games are fun. isnt that what gaming is? to have fun? most people are now judging on GFX and other aspects, im happy if its fun!! and to be more on-topic, im excited about the revolution and i think it definately has some potential for creative games remote out LAGIZZTIC 02.07.2006 18:29 Killer Instinct! wwf no mercy! Super mario 64! Resident evil! to name a few! Look I love xbox360,loved ps2, loved xbox, and the nintendo64,snes,genesis,and dream cast all had great games! If the creator of Halo wants to work on a project for Revolution so be it! Nintendo is right now going in the right directiion. I dont care to play music on my system thats what a boombox is for! Nor do I purchase a system to play dvd's it's a gameing system! And why do I want pictures on my system I have a photo album! Hey bottom line whether I like to admit it i will have a revolution ,a ps3,as well as my 360 Cause the sad truth is each system has exclusive games and it's hard to live without um no matter the system their on! And to be honest with ya's the more we all fight bout what is good and what is bad the more money that Microsoft Sony and Nintendo is going to make! So rather then whine bout things I'm going to enjoy all the consoles hopefully the'll come out with a link hookup! Unregistered - Leon 02.07.2006 23:49 Next time you want to post a comment to help nintendo it would be wise not to sound like a douche bag by saying things like "I will have 3 ladies in my bed next year, sorry all you monogamos kids getting the same action every night!" You call us fanboys but i say that only a girlfriendless boy would compare his console to a female. You sound an awfull lot like a nintendo power subscriber. lol The way i see it is that if only one console survives there will still be competition between the developers. we dont need more than one console for competition to exist. And guess what; the ideal controller for a fps is a gun style controller not that nintendo remote control. Unregistered - simo 02.08.2006 13:52 i own a xbox 360 but am also going to get the revolution because it offers somthing new which i probably wont have experienced in gaming yet. i dont see the point in being a fanboy where one console is concerned my console is the best no mine is its pointless as for the person who said the only good game on the n64 was mario kart hows about goldeneye i must have played that game for hundreds if not thousands of hours on multi player i think if you have got the money buy all 3 consoles or 2 and decide which offers the best gaming experience for you. Unregistered - wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww 02.10.2006 16:14 cool Unregistered - I MUST KNOW 02.10.2006 16:21 First it was Bungie on xbox, then they went to the PC making halo for the pc, now they are considering Nintendo next gen rev, what is next, i must know Add Comment |
