2K Games, a publishing label of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc., today offcially announced that its Venom Games development studio is bringing Prey to the Xbox 360. A unique twist on the first person shooter genre, Prey features such innovations as the ability to walk on walls, manipulate gravity and perform a "spirit walk" by leaving your physical body behind. The Xbox 360 version of Prey will feature full online support for up to eight players on the Xbox Live® online game service and beautiful high-definition graphics in addition to other Xbox 360 exclusive features. Built upon a highly modified version of id Software's Doom 3 engine, Prey is expected to take advantage of the power of the Xbox 360. Vivicious 02.08.2006 11:54 8 players just like with PC...perfect. =) Seriously, if you've played this game (in Paris for example) you'd know that more than 8 players would seriously ruin the experience. Because of the levels, game modes and weapons, you'd lose alot of the tactics and insane fire fights that way. Anyway, I just realised something...X360 exclusives...? If they mention the word co-op I will die a happy man. 3 -

If you've really checked out the screens, I'll help you out by crossing out some well known names: Doom 3 (Lol, course not, hyped up engine 1,5x) Far Cry (Look at the texture detail...not even close) FEAR --> Condemned (Even Condemned with FEAR's upgraded engine with soft shadowing doesn't beat this) Quake 4 (no comment... :P) I'm running out of ideas...Serious Sam II....BLACK?? LOL, seriously, only GoW, Project Offset and UT 2007 have impressed me more so far and it's safe to say that GoW and UT will have nowhere near the caliber of gameplay this game will have. Original titles? I think not. 8 -

Sure I can crank my PC on COD2 up to the max in resolution and max out every visual option, but then how will it play ?? Can you say CHUG CHUG, and NO my PC is not a junker, it is a very recent machine with a very nice 256 meg ATI card in it with 2 gig of ram. On my 360 however, the game looks just as nice and runs without issue. SMOOTH AND CLEAN while keeping great frame rates. Graphics are a part of the experience, but by far not the be all and end all. BTW, this game looks very nice and the pics do not do it justice. I have seen other hi-res images and they put these to shame. Details up to ying yang. 9 -
#8Unregistered - SMARTY PANTS 02.10.2006 19:34 100% AGREED. GRaphics are part of it. With FPS games I like physics just as much. Okay look at halo I think the physics are second to none. The graphics are good but not splinter cell ct good. The physics on the Wart Hog are sweet as hell. Also the grenade physics are very real. Also the way your Foe dies is cool also. From what I have seen in Prey footage the physics look very typical to most PC shooters. The grapics look cool though. The sound sounds just like DOOM,quake, unreal etc. I realy don't like these generic PC shooters. It seams like all these games are the same with just different skins. Whats up with that sound of feet on metal surfaces. Dude Paria had the same darn sound and all the other PC shooters. The concept of prey is sweet but this is a pass for me. IT IS THE SAME GAME WE HAVE ALREADY PLAYED. Add Comment |
