Bethesda Softworks today announced that the highly-anticipated role-playing game, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion has gone to gold master and will be available in stores in North America and Europe during the week of March 20. Oblivion will be available for Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PC in both regular and collector's editions."Our most ambitious project ever is finally done," said Todd Howard, executive producer of Oblivion. "We're excited to get the game into everyone's hands and let them experience it for themselves. We hope they enjoy it. I think it's our best game yet." Oblivion is an epic, open-ended single-player RPG for the next generation providing gamers with one of the most life-like gaming experiences to date. The powerful combination of unprecedented graphics and freeform gameplay allows gamers to unravel the main quest or explore the vast world at their own pace. Oblivion is the fourth chapter in the award-winning Elder Scrolls series that includes Morrowind (2002 RPG of the year - Computer Gaming World), Daggerfall (1996 RPG of the year -- PC Gamer), and Arena (1994 RPG of the year - Computer Player). This time around the game is going to give you a map of some sort to help you around the large world in Oblivion. You can get Oblivion on the 20th and rent past games to see if you like them as well. Past 360 games I would suggest Call of Duty 2, DOA 4, NFS:MW, and of course Fight Night Round 3. This means a totally new form of A.I. that is capable of making its own choices based on its needs (unscripted A.I., which hasnt been introduced into more than a handful of games. Second, an epic storyline. Oblivion isnt putting you into the role of saving the whole world. You are helping someone else do it, and props to Bethesda Softworks, because they are the only company who has dared to get away from this classic game cliche. Third, Oblivion is introducing new gameplay features that no other RPG game and few FPS's have introduced; things such as real world physics, 50 hours of voice recordings (some of the people involved being Patrick Steward, Sean Bean, and others), lip synching, and almost the whole game being locked at 30 fps(the equavilant of Halo 2; no lag). Please if you want any more info on this game I would love to help, but NEVER talk about a game you know nothing about. This game will revolutionize the gaming industry, this I am sure of. 30 -

Elder Scrolls, though, is a truly interactive experience: you can do whatever you want. My fiancee's brother liked to slaughter entire towns in Morrowind, ignoring the main story completely in his quest to create ghost towns. Pointless, you say? I pre-ordered it today and paid extra for over-night shipping so hopefully i'll get it before it goes on sale at the stores.
