Ubisoft today announced that it is developing Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas for PC, next-generation and current-generation video game consoles. Scheduled for an Autumn 2006 release and developed by Ubisoft's award-winning Montreal studio, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas is the fifth iteration of the multimillion-selling Rainbow Six tactical shooter franchise. The stakes are high when the world's most elite counter-terrorism unit enters Las Vegas, where over 36.7 million men, women and children visit each year. "Sin City," the home of the famous Las Vegas Strip, flashy hotels, high-rolling casinos and world-famous celebrities, becomes the setting for a terrorist threat of global proportions. What happens when one of the world's most famous cities is held hostage by terrorists? Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas will be Team Rainbow's next-generation console debut on the heels of the critically acclaimed Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced WarfighterTM and the highly anticipated Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Double AgentTM. Today, with more than 13.5 million units sold worldwide, the Rainbow Six franchise is known as one of the best multiplayer experiences and is hailed for its immersive single-player games. Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas will push technology through graphics, artificial intelligence, physics and animations created by Ubisoft's award-winning Montreal studios, which house some of the world's best talent, including Senior Producer Chadi Lebbos who was the lead on Rainbow Six 3. "Rainbow Six is back and better than ever," said Tony Kee, vice president of marketing at Ubisoft. "Building upon the online success of the Rainbow Six franchise and harnessing the power of the next-generation experience, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas will be the benchmark against which all next-generation games will be measured. With Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter being released this month to wide critical acclaim, and Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Double Agent also due out this year, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas makes a perfect addition to the Clancy series in 2006." ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Add Comment Unregistered - SW 1540 03.06.2006 13:52 OUTFIT DEMO IS READY TO GO !!!!!! HURRY http://spaces.msn.com/soundwave1540/ Unregistered - samonmoose 03.06.2006 14:10 i think this series has been raped for all its worth as a shallow money maker. The graphics look good but are no indication of quality of the title, either way they are going to have alot to compete with this time around so hopefully they step their game up 4 this release. JsonHenry 03.06.2006 14:34 Lockdown was a total dissapointment for PC. When they started making these games for the consoles FIRST, then started porting to the PC the series went straight downhill. It looks good, but that is it. Nothing else to see here folks! Move along! DixieNormS 03.06.2006 15:31 You are right, This cow has been milked too long. I enjoyed Black Arrow alot, but that was it. I just hope that there is something new and if the Mulitplayer is awsome I might pick it up but I might just pass or rent this puppy. But that is it. Unregistered - that one guy 03.06.2006 16:43 I have always loved the Rainbow Six series, but lately it has turned to crap, especially with Lockdown. The graphics look amazing, but hopefully it can find its reallistic roots again. samonmoose 03.06.2006 17:25 ravenshield on pc had excellent multiplayer etc but even that was a lazily made game with no attention to weapon balance and non existent a.i. Ubi r slowly lowering themselves into the pit where ea lives. Either way im sure we all want this rb6 2 b different. Unregistered - Unknown 03.06.2006 18:16 The graphics look great, but will it live up to the hype? I heard the last one sucks so I hope this one will be even better. Bohefus 03.06.2006 19:33 These pics are obviously not in game footage. They look pretty good but I don't think you can compare them to a game that's pretty much done(GRAW). Unregistered - Jacob 03.06.2006 22:52 First off, the tactical gameplay of lets say the original rainbow six games and personally my favorite raven shield, was developed by ubisoft montreal also responsible for splinter cell the original and chaos theory. Splinter cell pandora tommorrow when I first played it compared to the original splinter cell had way too many flaws in its sound (especially)and animation (even though some of them were cool) since it was developed by ubisoft shanghai. I was hoping that montreal would make chaos theory since shanghai made me feel that they were inferior compared to the devs at montreal. And lockdown ruined my rainbow six experience becuase it was not made by chaddi lebbos, original creator/dev of rainbow six 3 and raven shield, or ubisoft montreal. So I have a good feeling that tactical gameplay will still be intact and not arcady run n gun. I 100% trust montreal and their professionalism so I am confident that the gameplay will not only be linear, but more broad based and tactical like raven shield with prettier graphics of course. Unregistered - Jacob 03.06.2006 22:53 oops i meant non linear on the previous quote hehe. But hey freedom of speech, i can't stop you. Trickedbullet 03.07.2006 00:40 -- Deleted by Mod -- Unregistered - Xgamer 03.07.2006 01:23 Hey I first wanna say that new next gen. Rainbow six will/should be incredible. First off they were really restricted and limited by the last consoles even by the pc's but now with XBOX 360 here, well we'll be seeing a totally open and free version of the game with 1st and 3rd person shooter options. I think new life, no newly created life will be coming our way. Ex: look at the new Ghost Recon, totally new and awesome. Not just graphice but the game is more alive more real. We'll be seeing much much more of this with all titles. It's a new wave. Any game thats sucks isnt because the designer was limited with what they could do. Let freedom ring!! Oh yeah and post 11 sucks. LOL! Add Comment |
