Further expanding the experience of the #1 title for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, Activision, Inc., and Infinity Ward announced plans today to wage a campaign of new content for the next-gen leading Call of Duty 2 with the release of nine multiplayer maps on Xbox Live online gaming service. The first four maps will be available for download this spring, with playable versions debuting at E3 2006 in Activision’s Call of Duty 2 Lounge (South Hall, Booth #1200). The remaining five maps will be released in a second barrage in July. -- “Fans have made Call of Duty 2 the best-selling next-gen title and these maps are a great way to expand upon the hallmark epic scope and cinematic intensity that they’ve come to expect from the franchise,” said Grant Collier, president of Infinity Ward. “What better way to get the action to gamers than to release the first of the maps directly to them at E3!” --

Because i've been playing the hell outta that game on live. But you gotta remember graw has not even been out for two whole months yet. Cod2 was a launch title and has been out for five and a half months already. And i'm sure the game is declining a little bit so they waited to release some more maps to try and boost it back up.i'm sure graw will have some new maps in the next four to five months once it starts slippin a little. Unregistered - waldopepper 05.02.2006 18:54 mmm wonder how much they'll cost THE HIVE TYRANT 05.02.2006 18:57 yo this is awesome news i hope alot are small maps because cod 2 has just turned into one giant sniper hole it thats lame also why not try to give everyone a stat page to see where we stand snipers you all fear the psssh Unregistered - OEM 05.02.2006 19:50 AWSOME NEWS I as well hope for some smaller maps. Many times it is me and about 3 buds on LIVE (so we can talk smack the next day at work about who pwned who) and a few smaller maps would be nicer than the sometime "JUST RUN AND RUN BECAUSE THE MAP IS HUGE" games. Cost ???? Unregistered - Kyle 05.03.2006 00:48 The first four maps are set to arrive this spring in two separate packs. One pack will include maps in Vossenack and Wallendar, Germany, and will be a free download. The other two maps (Kalach, Russia and Beaumont-Hague, France) will be sold in a "skirmish pack" on Xbox Live Marketplace for 400 Marketplace points ($5). The second wave of maps will hit the Marketplace in July as one big bunch. This "invasion pack" features maps set on the French battlefields of St. Louet, Antoville, and Amaye sur Seulles, as well as Alam Halfa, Egypt, and Rostov, Russia. That pack will cost 900 Marketplace points ($11.25). Unregistered - Kyle 05.03.2006 00:48 Hopefully they do like the Halo 2 maps and after a while go to zero Unregistered - kingy 05.03.2006 05:10 Awesome news, i love call of duty 2, especially it's multiplayer, looking forward 2 these!
