Unregistered - Mo 05.03.2006 12:01 It just works with Wi-Fi connected 360s. They just worded it so it kinda sounds like it could be. Don't be fooled. I've been saying for years someone needs to make a bluetooth headset for the controllers. I'm sick of being tethered to the controller. Everytime I get off the couch, I have to bring the damned thing with me. Often times i have to stick it in my pocket to pour a drink or something. I use private chat all the time, so the current headsets just aren't optimal. Whoever does make a wireless communicator will definately get my attention. Unregistered - big john 05.03.2006 12:04 Why not make a full lightweight headset with mic? I have the turtle beach headset and it is pure crap...it weighs a ton ..the connection cords are too short and it is expensive...the only thing good about the headset is the great surround sound... It would be nice if some companies would make a lightweight wireless headset and don't just try to immitate the one coming already in the xbox 360 premium kit... Unregistered - Wuz Ranger 05.03.2006 12:07 It states that it is WiFi compatible.....the 360 controller is BlueTooth. So no it is not wireless. Unregistered - shotty 05.03.2006 12:22 There is already a bluetooth headset avaiable for the xbox 360. Unfortunately its only available in europe for the time being. Its made by Datel and it retails for £59.99. Here's the link http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000ENPCII/kelkoocpc-games-consoles-21/ref%3Dnosim/203-9324624-6401568 If it doesn't work goto amazon.co.uk and type in datel bluetooth xbox 360 headset. Hope this helps Unregistered - Mo 05.03.2006 12:41 Thanks #5... didn't know they existed. Makes no sense to regionally market this product, but shows they have it in mind. So I think I'll pick one up soon. No more incidental pocket button pushing!!!! Hurray! Rejoice! Halleluja!!! Unregistered - Bluetooth what are you talking about? 05.03.2006 13:48 #4 the 360 is NOT Bluetooth enabled if you recall Microsoft came up with their own proprietary wireless protocol. You may also recall some of the interference problems that Wal-Mart had with their internal systams do to the wireless controllers in the Kiosks at launch time. Wireless controllers were replaced with wired, problem went away. p.s. Bluetooth is a Sony held technology, hence any company using that protocol has to pay for the usage/compliance rights. It's also not likely for Microsoft to send money to their biggest competition for each console and device sold. Unregistered - shotty 05.03.2006 14:20 #7 bluetooth is not a sony owned company, bluetooth is developed and owned by SIG. All companies even sony licence this technology from SIG. If sony created bluetooth it would have failed within a year(LOL) and they would be the only ones that would create bluetooth headsets because they don't licence their technology to other companies. I dont know what the hype about bluetooth is it also runs on the familiar 2.4 Ghz frequency so it also susceptible to interference. Microsoft created its own wireless technology for the xbox 360, it my opinion it is a fantastic and perfect. I have never had a droped signal, even when I put my controller up against a running microwave it still held the signal with no lag. Also my xbox 360 is located on the first floor of my house and even from my bedroom on the second floor of my house I can control my xbox 360 even though there was no reason to, I just tried it to see how far it would work for. I'm gonna try my neighbors house next. From what I heard about bluetooth is the distance is horrible but maybe sony will use a new version of bluetooth Unregistered - cannon 05.03.2006 15:49 #8 is correct i live on the second floor of my dorm at tennessee.and i took my 360 to my friends room on the sixth floor and my roommate walked in to my room on the 2nd floor and dident know the 360 was gone so he turned on the controler on the 2nd floor and the damn console cut on on the sixth floor. thats awesome Unregistered - Gamertag: Arsenic13 05.03.2006 17:03 should i get this or the plantronic X30 , im worried da X30 may not be loud enough .
