Looks the same as last year. I wish they were going to add a little more graphical bells and whistles with the extra time this year. This game doesn't come close to pushing the 360. At least we should be getting all the content this year. Better be four players as well.

So far this looks better then the PS3 version of Madden. The grass on the screens I saw for that look like crap.

2 - Why should EA bother?

Why should EA bother making the best football game each year when there is no competition to push em? All they have to do is provide an adequate game offering all the basic functionality as previous iterations. There is no need for real innovation. There is no need to push the technological envelope. All they have to do (while they hold the NFL license exclusively) is to add a couple extra polygons each year and the gamers will continue to flock. Even if they lose some fans, it won't matter, because EA will probably make record profits from Madden because of the reduced development time and the associated reduced cost.

I sincerely hope that the upcoming Madden will fully utilize the power of the next gen consoles. If they do, they will gain an even larger fanbase. I hope that EA uses this license exclusivity to challenge and push themselves to greater hights rather than sit back and make the incremental improvements with each version (as they did in the past prior to challenge from the great NFL 2K series).

i doubt they will. kind of the purpose for buying out the rights in my opinion. now they don't have to work as hard, or drop prices to compete with a better product (nfl 2k5).
