Today Asobo Studios announced that their upcoming off-road racer Gran Raid Off Road is coming to Microsoft's upcoming console. Check out these screens of this anticipated upcoming title!
Choose from 30 vehicles. The one that you consider to suit best to conquer the vast wilderness and attention, with Gran Raid Offroad you will definitely be facing vastness.
Beautiful landscapes, as far as the eye can see, where the drives has to decide on his very own which way will lead him to the finish line faster than his adversaries.
Breathtaking realism behind the steering wheel as well: A gameplay orienting itself at classical really-titles, paired with complete freedom of orientation in landscapes measuring more than 10.000 km2 (3500 square miles) with new challenges for the player behind every bend.

it looks really ok....like a rendered movie - thanks to this motion blur we wont be able to see if the graphics is nice on the screens, until we'll see game in action

Looks cool. I like the idea of online races with no specified track, just waypoints. Yet another reason to own an xbox 360. Damn you M$, why must your system get better everyday... "All your bases are belong to us"

Not bad, but not real, like in PS3
8 - hard to read
Unregistered - Jeb 08.31.2005 11:58
That description is just hard to read. Did they ever think of editing that thing before publishing it on the web?
9 - Graphics?
Unregistered - Chris 08.31.2005 13:42
Honestly, to the guy who mentioned how good the graphics will be to determine if it's good. Games are about gameplay ... sure graphics are nice, but seriously ... some of the best games out there have the simplest graphics. I don't understand why there is such a massive need for "teh b3st graffix" ... You pick up a PC game like Battlefield 2, it's no less fun because my anti-aliasing is turned off and it's not running at 1280x1024 at 60 fps ... it's the same game. I judge games based on having fun and good gameplay, not if they have 100 points of light for every particle of dust.
10 - yup!

You said it chris, games should be judged on gameplay and fun factor. Thats why NINTENDO still makes some of the best games in the buisness.
11 - Real?
Unregistered - Jay 08.31.2005 14:04
Real like PS3? That PS3 off-road footage shown at E3 was pre-rendered. Another of Sonys thoughts on "what it MIGHT look like".
12 - 360 Day will own 4eva!.

Yeah I agree with that comment on Sony!. They are soooo up their own butts its unreal!. All they show is offline games, pre-rendered sh1t and a load of `has been` titles. I hope Microsoft show em what they`re dealing with. Check out the following link (which I`m sure you will have seen already) and prepare to get piped up at this STUPID Sony tosser blokey, who really is being paid way too much to tell nothing but lies, lies, lies!.

PPS: I`ll see you all in November then eh!!?.

yea it is all about game play but the graphics are the icing on the cake man. what i don't get is why ppl spend so much time on graphics and not on gameplay. it just annoys me to see something that looks really pretty and plays like sh*t. but i guess that is what makes gaming so hard lol

I think that the main problem with games of today, is that they look damn good and they do play nicely too (half the time LoL), but the main killer for any developer is obviously the difficulties they face when trying to come up with a fresh new genre. Every type of FPS has been done to death, as well as every type of racing game, or sports game etc etc. The need to innovate is always `key` to the developers, but hey its damn hard to come up with something new, (like trying to think up a colour that hasn`t already been seen). When you look at Halo, it was the second FPS shooter I had played up till that point and it had such an impact that it will be forever embedded in my mind till I die!. Half-life-2 was a good FPS too, but it lacked what Halo gave, which was freshness. Halo was soooooo deep as it seemed more like a story/movie, not just a `point A to point B` style game like many before it. If Half-life had came out prior to Halo (or even Doom-3), then it would probably be those games that people would tout as the best FPS they have ever played. Everything up until now has had its day and ulimately been drained dry of anything new to offer us gamers, so the only thing they can do immediately is to bump up the graphical quality and hope we like it. PDZ will be good initially due to the 64 player matches that will take place. Dead-Rising looks to be the best 360 game I have seen so far, based purely on the fact that it innovates me with its fresh thinking and concept (alone in a Mall with 1000+ zombie and lawnmower LoL. Alan Wake seems great too, so al I can say is that it seems to me the genres are all out of steam. When you look at the success of Warcraft, then you can see why it has had sooooo many people subscribing to it (I even did for a while). It has its own way of constantly changing. It is the same landscape, yet it is always different every time you see it. If the developers take the MMORPG online thing to the next level and let `us` guys mould/model it to our tastes, then genres won`t matter to that particular developer anymore, as we can make the game our own. I personally think that online mmo`s are the way forward, wether its old skool style like WoW, or more high tech space based games. Just imagine having a world where millions of `LIVE` subscribers can join together in one huge non stop world. Imagine chipping in with your friends and making a pact.....the three of you buying a ship together. When one sleeps (offline), you can control the vessel and land on unchartered territory, risking the death of your team-mates while they sleep. You could all meet online and just chat while your ship travels 2 whole days in real time, trying to get to an unmapped space station your radar picked up days ago. The ability to be able to walk round in FPS style and put the ship on auto-pilot seems amazing (mace griffin style). Just picture it when you finally land. The ship startys its descent and you all lock n load ready for what may be outside (picture Aliens). Two of you are online, but the other is still sleeping (offline). Do you risk leaving him?, and go alone as a pair?, or ring him/message him and wait for him to get online?. It`s this type of thing that makes me get up every day and just think.....according to Sony, online isn`t needed yet "LOL".

18 - New genres
Unregistered - Mr S 09.04.2005 06:58
I aggree about the lack of new genres out there. I think it will take some free thinking hippy dude like Jeff Minter to come up with something new. I thought of something that might be fun. A hillwalking simulator, where the terrain is generated procedurally and randomly based on a seed provided by a CD that you pop in the tray. So a world generated by 'Moon Safari' would be entirely differnt to one generated by say 'Rolf Harris greatest Hits', but would be identical to somebody elses world who was also listening to 'moon safari' so you could meet up with people online in these worlds and go and explore and have a blether, and have faces that were mapped in real time using the video camera. I think this would be pretty nifty.

I honestly won`t rest in my coffinn till A:) I have played a 360!, B:) Played and finished Halo-3 C:) Watched as Sony`s `Devil-Machine` loses to the mighty `X` and lastly, plyed in a real world Matrix!!!. Just imagine it right!?.......imagine if the proper Matrix could be done. Firstly, the gamers would lap it up (obviously), but I think that the ISP`s such as BT and Telewest etc could offer people great things. Just pretend for a moment that your all connected up to this wireless machine ok?. U either enter the matrix when you sleep, or as a treat on the weekends, or just in the day (whatever pleases you ok?). Then pretend that your an alcoholic, or drug user and your dying to give up ur addiction ok?. Instead of going to a hypnotherapy class, or seeing a specialist, you could pay a fee to ur ISP for a short 30 minute program, which will help you control your addictions. Just think that one day you go to bed a smoker, and the next day u dont need them anymore!!!. They could think up loads of different things too and these courses could range from £50-£500 (who knows). If you haven`t got the nerve to bungee-jump, then why not pay for it through the Matrix program eh?, or how about if you fancy driving the fastest car ever created for a whole night, or going for a holiday for what feels like 2 weeks, but is actually only one night. People who NEED sex often could get laid online with a variety of gorgeous women and just think what the hackers could do too eh?...........you could end up boning Britney Spears, while Christina Aguilera watches etc, etc, etc. Whatever you think of my suggestions, just remember that I aint insane, just curious. If you still think I`m mad, then ask yourself this one question....."When you watched the Matrix for the first time at the cinema, how much did you want to be part of it eh?, .....how much did you want to be Neo?, or Trinity?, or Morpheus?.....if the answer is as much as I did, then I`m sure you understand where I`m going with this. See you all soon guys n gals.
