At Konami's E3 press conference earlier this week, Ryan Payton, International Manager for Kojima Productions, showed off the team's latest E3 promotional material. The piece closely imitates Show Daily, the E3 show's official daily magazine, though the content focuses completely on the games of Kojima Productions. The pardy magazine, cutely named Show Maybe?, copies the look and layout of the E3 Show Daily, going as far as including full-page advertisements. Most of the adverts are for Kojima Production games, including Metal Gear Solid 4 and Lunar Knights, though a few of them are not. Here's one that caught our attention. It's a Microsoft Xbox 360 ad that covers two pages. On the right side of the two-page spread are the 360 logo and the slogan "Jump in." On the left page are these words, written in font that looks like handwriting: "Dear Mr. Kojima," forming the sentence "Dear Mr. Kojima, Jump in."

But if he does "jump in" and make games for MS than Sony really is starting to lose some grip on the gaming world. Just imagine playing Metal Gear on the 360. Also sony would be embarrased if the game looks exactly or better than those precious screens they have been showing off for two E3's already. deepio 05.12.2006 09:44 Metal Gear Solid 2 was on the Xbox so why wouldn't they develop one for the 360? Unregistered - Devon Williams 05.12.2006 10:08 I think Kojima developing new orginial game exclusive on XBOX360. Unregistered - shotty 05.12.2006 11:03 Come on MGS 4 on the xbox 360. Thats the only game on the ps3 I actually want to play on my xbox 360. Unregistered - p h fat 05.12.2006 11:14 i have had enough MGS (too many cut scenes and conversations.) the games were great but i would much prefer hideo san to make a new IP for 360 as he is a true legend in gaming. Islandkiwi 05.12.2006 12:07 You don't buy a two page spread as an inducement to get someone to work on you console. You meet with the person. You come to an agreement. This is a teaser, like Halo3 was. Something is already in the works with Mr. Kojima, and this is MS informally announcing it. former questionmark 05.12.2006 12:11 kojima already personally said he plans to make games for all 3. just not the same game on multiple platforms. so mgs4 is most likely a no go on 360. he'll make games specifically for each. asdf 05.12.2006 12:49 This was actually in Konami's magazine, in which all the other ads are for Konami games. It wasn't an ad put there by MS, it was put there by Konami. Just a clarification so we don't misread the evidence, but I think it's likely that this means he may be "jumping in" soon, so to speak. One theory was that they put it there to poke fun at MS, but I doubt they'd do that, as they have a relationship to maintain with MS for the sake of other games (e.g. Winning Eleven). Unregistered - Famoamo 05.12.2006 12:52 I totally agree with #6. Something is already brewing! Unregistered - The M.A.R.T. 05.12.2006 13:06 I don't really care about the most overhyped game ever, I mean it looks allright, but it plays like those stupid Japanese setup of things, with to many video's, taking two steps another video, messages. I mean come on. Metal Gear Solid isn't even a really PS based game. Metal Gear started on the MSX for you that didn't know the history of these games. In that time it already anoyed me, it were only text based cartoon like baloons that we're flying around. But at least then it was still allright because videogaming was quit new and hot. I speak about 1988-1990 when I guess a bit. I really hope it doesn't come to the 360, it brings sh*tloads of die hard Fony fans with it, I just hope they stick with the PS3 and MGS4 then they die together a fast and painfull death. What I would like to see from MS let's say right now, is a playable demo at the end of E3, from Gears of War with the level I just saw on video footage of E3!!! Add Comment |
