E3 Right before E3 2006, LucasArts announced partnerships with Pixelux Entertainment and Natural Motion to develop and implement new technologies in all their next-generation games. Pixelux’s Digital Molecular Matter (DMM) tech, which simulates material reaction to real-world physics, was on display in the Indiana Jones demo, but behind closed doors an even greater representation was shown – thanks to the Star Wars universe.

It does sound like the new technology they are investing in will save both development time (not having to perform hand animations), and will allow more realistic and immersive environments. I wish they would release that tech demo on live!! Unregistered - Mo 05.24.2006 09:52 There was an Indiana Jones trailer that showcased most of this stuff. Look for it on later pages on this site. Unregistered - me 05.24.2006 16:51 sounds friggin sweet! I've been wanting environments this destructable for a long time now. Imagine a shooter in which you shoot a building and it realistically crumbles and collapses. Then imagine all of this going on in multiplayer. It would be sweet. People couldn't hide behind buildings and things becuase you could just blow the building down with rockets! Unregistered - REDMON BOYZ 05.24.2006 18:30 (((force))) {{{kick ass}}} Add Comment |
