Microsoft has revealed that it expects there to be a gap of between a week and ten days between the launch of Xbox 360 in North America, Europe and Japan.
This was pretty much expected and according to a report on Reuters, Chief Xbox Officer Robbie Bach has spoken about the release across the three territories for the Xbox 360 at the Reuters Technology and Telecoms Summit in Tokyo. "There will probably be a week or 10 days in between the different territories, just to give us a chance to manage the logistics," Bach said. Also he's re-affirmed Microsoft's plan to "launch in North America, Europe and Japan in the same holiday season". Most likely North America first with Europe and Japan to follow. Bach also spoke briefly about the Xbox 360 launch line-up, saying that around 15 to 20 games will be available immediately, and 25 to 40 titles will be available by the end of the year. Unregistered - Anonymous Coward 09.14.2005 09:15 We have no school here in Southern wisconsin because we had a miniture katrina last night. a man died by getting electricuted and 70,000 people are without power. Unregistered - Anonymous Coward 09.14.2005 09:50 so how are you talking to us without power previous writer resfan 09.14.2005 09:53 I hope gears of war will be one of the 25 to 40 titles. I'd like to be playing that on x-mas morning. Unregistered - ZR 09.14.2005 10:08 i have no money so i have to wait another 4 months after the launch date in europe!!!!!!!!!!!!! i am going wild Lucid360 09.14.2005 10:18 Did you hear that??? Ahh the sound of another Origen360 rumor biting the dust..8 more days left... Lucid360 09.14.2005 10:19 Gears Of War release is currently set for March 2006... As I see it in release information but that can move up or down always. Unregistered - RAVEN SLAYER 09.14.2005 10:40 I can't want for the 360 to get here. But I won't have any money to get the games that come out that sucks so much. Any one want to help me i'll take offers no lower then 10 dollars......LOL. Unregistered - Anonymous Coward 09.14.2005 10:53 i was one of the lucky ones #3, i had power Vivicious 09.14.2005 11:14 Def. a bit different than the rumor that there would be only 5 launch titles, rofl, sounds pretty sweet. Unregistered - Anonymity Rulez 09.14.2005 11:36 Hardly a 3-region simultaneous launch is it? Simultaneous means "at the same time". Lucid360 09.14.2005 11:42 We can do it the sony way and make the rest of the world wait up to a year, then be short of supply and cause a feeding frenzy making it look like our console is being killed for on the streets, offer 4-5 games. I personally think MS is doing it better than anyone else has. Obviosly you have never coordinated anything more complicated than running through the 3 S's in the morning before work otherwise you would know the sheer amount of logistics at work to get it this close together. Unregistered - Durrill 09.14.2005 12:02 so.. giving a number range of expected game releases really means that they're trying to hype up realistic goals. It'll be 15 games at launch and 25 by the end of the year. The minimums are what its gonna be, the ranges are just to inflate everyone's hopes. But, like someone said earlier, Gears of War better be one of those titles! Unregistered - Anonymous liquid_fire 09.14.2005 12:37 lol i dont care bout the gap!! just give us a damn actual release day MS. GRRR!! though lest all this means whre getting close. It great that they will be 15-20 games at launch, might get 2 or 3 , dont know yet. Unregistered - Anonymous Coward 09.14.2005 12:42 i hope they ship in japan at same time as us then ms will prove to the japs they are taking there territory more seriously i live in uk and don't mind waiting a week or two it's when sony launches 10/11 months after jap that p@#=es me off SillyNewbie 09.14.2005 16:34 Yea, why do they do that, microsofts time slot is understandable, but sony's is outrageous, especially in europe. And i read somewhere that european people are spread 60% for sony, 30% for ms, and 10% for nintendo, but the only people i see on xbl are european people.... w/e also i really think that there will be 20 launch titles, cause i saw a list that went up to 20, and unless a few get delayed it will be 20, i think the only reason they said 15 is because a couple of titles may have a chance of being delayed - PGR3, as well as other titles... But that is still the biggest laucnh i have seen yet. Also does sony even sell bundles, i don't remember ps2 bundles, on psp bundles i have seen, so really what is so great about sony's launch you get 5 probably sucky launch titles, and a controller, and the console, no hdd, no nothing else... I like MS they seem very user friendly. Also in case you guys haven't heard, you no longer need to pay for xbl with a credit card, you can just buy like 6 at a time, enter in all 6 codes, and then it will last for 6 years. But if you like you can still pay by credit card. I love this new feature, cause now i know alot of my freinds whose parents don't want to use their credit cards, but they have the money in cash to pay for it, but no credit card to put in. For more information read about where it says europe and xbox live updated... Lucid360 09.14.2005 16:53 GEARS OF WAR WILL NOT BE RELEASED TILL 2006 you silly idiots!!! GAWD do i need to say it another time... call your local game store or read the press releases... DAMN... Unregistered - Alan 09.14.2005 18:56 It would be awesome for Microsoft to release the Xbox 360 in the United States first so as Robert Bach said 'they want to receive first-hand status'. After they receive as many information on sale units in the U.S, they will then release the Xbox 360 in Japan and Europe. Remember that Microsoft said that they would SIMUTALIONESLY launch the system during the HOLIDAY SEASON OF 2005, which can be from November 2005-January 2006. xero coo1 09.14.2005 20:48 God I can't wait till christmas.
