Today we got our grubby mits on some new images from the upcoming Crackdown for the XBox 360. Being developed by the man who created GTA this title has quite a bit of buzz surrounding it. Real Time Worlds is fitting Crackdown with a realistic game world that offers plenty of freedom to the player. The game's massive city features full day-night cycles and can be explored freely, all the way up to the upper floors of the tall buildings. The city is filled with thousands of characters besides yourself, some good and some bad. You'll also find vehicles, from giant tractors to standard automobiles, all of which can be driven. As an agent, you also have your very own car from the start. We don't know too much about the gameplay in Crackdown yet, but Real Time Worlds seems to be concentrating on reality in this area as well. Your character, who can be customized in sex and form, grows based on your actions, with statistics tracked for such areas as strength movement, running, gun handling and driving technique. Hit an enemy, for instance, and your character's strength rises. You can even get strong enough to pick up and toss cars (remember, you're not an ordinary human being). Your interaction with enemies also has some depth to it. Instead of simply taking out your enemies directly, you can weaken them by gutting off their supply of guns and vehicles. Doing so will reduce the enemy's gun and vehicular strength and increase yours in return. Online play is also being worked into Crackdown. Currently, we know of two Online modes: cooperative play and multi play. In cooperative mode, you and a single friend work together via Xbox Live. Multi play mode is being kept under wraps for now, so we can only imagine what it will turn out to be." Source - IGN

So what if this game 'may' come out in Japan first, so do many other great ones, we still get most of them and we'll still get this one and we may even benefit from extra features that are sometimes added when getting the game later. If you hate MS so much may I suggest that you look at the revolution or a PS3 since Nintendo / Sony are clearly so much better at looking after thier customers....and don't buy a 360 but that'll be your loss not ours. I believe that MS should conquer or at least put up a fair fight against the PS3 before it starts going over seas to grab maybe 10,000. It's not worth the loss to concentrate more on Japan than U.S.. EuroupeUnregistered - James 09.29.2005 08:42 I'm from the UK and to be honest I think at first the Xbox was lagging behind the PS2 but in the last year or so has caught up massively as people have only just realised that the Xbox is technically more powerful than the PS2. Since last year demand has been so high that most stores are permanantly out of stock. I got my Xbox 2 Xmas's ago and have already pre-ordered my 360. The 360 has pretty much sold out here in th UK (on pre-order) as well. I think the problem last time was the lack of advertising from Microsoft. In terms of Advertising and promotions Sony definately runs things out here. Its only those willing to open there minds that tend to go for the Xbox. But I think they'll win the next gen war over here. 22 -

If so I will be playing NES for another 20 years. GTA looked like shit on the PS2 but the gameplay was sweet. You had a block headed guy running around a block headed city. PS fanboys bragged about games last gen, now they bost about graphics get a life guys. The over all evperience is WHAT IT IS ALL ABOUT. I read about this game in gameinformer and I might have to pick it up. BTW NES is the bst console of all time period. It was fun that what "GAMES: are made to be. TETRIS was more entertaining than alot of these 5 million poly character games that are made today. CREATIVITY sheep this is what sales games.
