As we are nearing X05, the news is already starting pour in. The next few days will be even more hectic than the recent Tokyo Game Show, at least for us as this event is all about Microsoft and the 360. X05 will be the last significant opportunity for Microsoft to showcase the Xbox 360 prior to its worldwide launch in November/December, and Microsoft has promised to make the most of it.Microsoft Games Studios GM, Shane Kim is promising vast improvements to known games and the unveiling of new ones. As we reported earlier today, at least one of those new games will be from Bioware. Talking to Next Generation Kim Says- "Until this point we've not been able to demonstrate the power of Xbox 360 as clearly as we like. At X05 people will see that the next generation undoubtedly begins with Xbox 360." He added, "In addition to the titles third parties are showing, we'll be showing off Kameo: Elements of Power, Project Gotham Racing 3, Perfect Dark Zero and Gears of War at X05. It's been a long time since E3 and these games have had significant improvements made in that time. Back then we were still running on early kits. Now we're running on finished hardware. Also, PGR, Gears of War and Perfect Dark Zero were only shown behind closed doors at E3 and Kameo was our only title on the floor. Even [at the Tokyo Game Show], the games shown there were more representative, but we still held a lot of stuff back. At X05 there's going to be a lot more shown.” Also according to a Microsoft spokesperson, we will finally get more exact information about which titles will be available from day one and which titles that will be available in the 'release window'. (Like Condemed: Criminal Origens) The developers don't want to spend that kind of money on R&D. Sony had a strategy of making it hard to make games for the Cell processor, that way developers would not have the cash to port it to any other system giving the PS3 a bunch of PS3 only titles by default. It is backfiring. The 360 has a powerful, easier to code for, and much hyped system. They also sent a ton of Dev Kits out that makes things easier. (not easy, but easier than Sony's debacle of a system) Which means most developers, especially small development houses, will not be spending the money on the PS3, and making games for the 360. (maybe the revolution too, as nintendo has a history of easy to develop for consoles) 10 -

JsonHenry 10.03.2005 09:18 You know, I love Tom Clancy stuff. Rainbow Six games, Ghost Recon games... but I just can't get into the Splinter Cell games. I have no idea why, but I just can't seem to make myself like them. The games have great graphics, I love stealth games (Like Thief) but I just can't seem to enjoy playing Splinter Cell. Maybe I am playing the game wrong or something? 14 -
