Next Generation asked media and analysts what they thought about Microsoft's performance last week, and whether it has improved their view of Xbox 360's chances. One opinion states: Microsoft seems to have adapted – Borg-style – to the criticism leveled at them after MTV and E3: There were no tragically-hip youngsters whooping in a ring around J Allard, and Microsoft lowered the hubris and hyperbole just a tad, letting the games rather than the marketing department, speak for the company. Im not sure if any of you have considered NFS Most Wanted for your first racer but this games looks UNREAL. I got so immersed i forgot i was driving the car cus i kept looking at the scenery and was amazed so much of the engine sounds. PD0 also, great, wonderful, i begged to bring one of these babies home but you know how those guys are, so i gotta wait just lie you all. This isn't going to be the year of nex-gen games, 2006 will be.....I hope. Glad I didn't rush out to preorder the 360 when I can just wait and not get pissed if my preorder isn't there or if I have a system but no good games to play on it. 10 -
Unregistered - gam3r 10.12.2005 12:29 I think there are going to be alot of dissapointed people when they get used to playing there xbox360 on there HDTV and realise that the games are all the same they just look better.One original title Kameo and thats for kids...everything else is just the same, just better graphics....Bring on GOW and hope for the best..I truly hope we are not dissapointed but I have this feeling that the hype has become bigger than the actual products. 11 -

The PS3 hasn't shown much of anything and by time it does it will already be playing the better next gen games rather then the first one's out of the pot. This first set of games is like the wrapping around your favorite snack, it's cool because you have the thing but you still havn't opened it and takin a bite yet. By the time the PS3 comes out you'll be just opening that thing and taking that first big bite. So when it does arrive it's already got the damn snack cake and feeding it to you. When the 360 comes out you have to wait before you can really enjoy it. Well that's about it for now. 15 -

not sayingUnregistered - nah 10.12.2005 13:55 I'n not saying the 360 won't have some good games but that you'll have to wait awhile before you can really tell if it was worth all that it's said it's going to be. When the PS3 does show up it will be playing games that the 360 will be playing and then you can see any true differance. Remember how the X-box had some of the same games as the PS2 but it had more levels and GFXs so people bought that one instead. Well if the PS3 is better and has more space for more game play then it's history repeating it's self but this time it may be Sony's turn. Just have to wait and see. 17 -

The PS3 will also take a year to learn how to develop good games for. What you said is like saying, "We will put two pizzas in an oven, put one in for an hour(360) and another in for 1 minute (PS3). Anyone who looks at the MGS4 trailer and compares it to a 360 launch title is a MORON. YOU CAN ONLY COMPARE HALO 3 OR SOME OTHER GAME AT THAT TIME OF THE 360'S TO A PS3 GAME LIKE MGS4. Xbox 360 fans I can't wait until Halo 3 look like MGS4 because that is the nature of graphics improvement. 21 -

I've seen games recieve 8.5's, 9's, and I hated them; conversely, I've seen games get low scores and loved them. The bottom line is this: You have to know what kind of gamer you are and what truly appeals to you so you can cut through the hype. For instance, I will be buying the 'core system'...I know, I know, I can hear it already.."but the standard is a better buy" Well, like game reviews, it depends on who you are. I don't like wireless controllers, buying batteries and chargers and dealing with lag; I am going to hook it up to my computer monitor so i don't need high def cables; don't want a head set because I don't want some idiot talking or cursing in my ear while I am trying to play(at first it was cool, then the whole headset thing got annoying)Now, the hard drive I will get but probably at a later date. I want to see just how NECCESSARY IT IS? 22 -
I agree with 21Unregistered - William 10.12.2005 21:26 21, you are right on the money. However, I will be getting the standard system, because I like wireless controllers, and I have a hi def tv. But I do agree with you about the head set lol. Anyway, reviews are just someone's opinion...period! I think the 360 is going to be great. The ps3...who knows. Sony is know for a lot of hype and I don't care what their online plans are, THERE IS NO WAY IT WILL BE BETTER THAN XBOX LIVE. Of course, sony can rely on all of asia supporting them and shunning microsoft as the evil empire of the west. But as far as north america goes, I think sony is in big trouble. many North American gamers don't care about 'King of fighters" and the other crappy titles that are popular among the asian gamers. In addition, the developers, especially ea are no longer in sony's bed anymore. Seems to me that the big MS has stolen some of sony's mojo lol. Like MS has an uphill battle with asian gamers in asia, sony has an uphill battle with north american gamers. I know many gamers like myself, if it doesn't have online capabilites I'm not interested. This time around, there will be no ea, no gta exclusives (especially with all the gta rip offs) to save sonys arse. And if any of you guys think that killzone will look anywhere near what you saw at E3, KEEP DREAMING!! I am no fan of microsoft but I will say this, unlike sony, they underpromise and over deliver. And I will invest in a console that developers say they enjoy working on and is easy to work with. Buy what you like guys but make sure you are not being influenced by b.s...look at the facts 23 -

In addition the controllers are rechargeble, and they come with a play and charge cable so you can play continuosly no prob. Headset is nice for keeping all the action sound to your self so as not to disturb others in the house.... 24 -
