Famed developer Yu Suzuki finally confirmed in a recent interview that there are currently no plans to release Shenmue 3. In an interview with gamer.com.tw Suzuki admits to closing the doors on the beloved franchise, but he said that if the project were ever green-lighted he would be happy to return to the world of Ryo Hazuki. This certainly comes as a striking blow to all the Shenmue fans who were clamoring onto that last shred of hope to see the final chapter of the series this generation. Perhaps someday Suzuki-san will be able to complete his story, but for now you will still be in the dark as to whether Ryo will ever get revenge for his father.

Shenmue was an excellent little series, and one of the shining examples of why the Dreamcast was/is? excellent. Shenmue was like a reality TV game, completly different. Shame that we won't see the end. I agree with Spartan though about the other RPG's, like Final Fantasy. Don't get me wrong, I love most of the Final Fantasy series (7 still rocks), but I hate the fact that it takes me an hour to get across a little patch of grass because I have to keep fighting the same enemies over and over and over again, just to get a bloody magic power. Well, thanks for not being a complete ass Vivicious (seriously, no joke), some people screw over the littlest comment, and you answered with your own opinion is a adult fashion. What I mean by my comment about RPG's are that in a huge majority of them you take just one step, and your into another fight, when you just want to get to the next stage of the game. Yeah, I know the whole point of an RPG is the fight aspect, but it get's just a little silly when you walk a few steps and your into a fight again. That's not saying I don't like RPG's. Final Fantasy 7 + 8, Chrono Trigger (SNES) and Chrono Cross (PS1) are classics! My favourite being Front Mission on the SNES. I remember a RPG on the SNES by Eniq called Robotrek (I think it was called that) and you had to make your own little robots by collecting parts and go on quests. It was sooo cool. Except one thing, that could make the whole thing just fall apart for me. MS as we all not has opted to use standard dvd9's as its media of choice. Well, I don't know about you, but i'm looking at how are the developers going to really get the most out of allll that power that theh 360 is providing onto a itty bitty dvd disc. Sony chose to utilize the blu-ray disc, which is capable of holding a hell of alot more data. So now when a developer is making the ps3 version of a game they can and will make it top notch. J. Allard, was speaking on this very matter, and his only answer was, compression, compression, compression. I gasped, cause' when you think about it. That's the same thing they did for the GTA Sanandreas, and I mean really, it was a great game but it looked so so sh!tty. This is suppose to be the next gen in gaming. Everything else is in place for the 360. It's like having a brand new sweater, it's your size, it's new it's made out of the best materials, but there's a snag on the inside or on the back that no one's paying attention to and slowy but surely it'll start to unravel, and before you know it, you'll be looking for a new sweater. This is very troubling as I was excited about the 360. I still am excited but just knowing this is making me become less and less. Which allow the developer to store textures and models as algorithm. Reducing there sized by more than 70 %. Also M$ also came up with a compression algoritm to stored HD movies on a standard DVD 9 disc 2 years ago, but it required a 3 ghz proccesor to uncompess 1080p. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/content_provider/film/ContentShowcase.aspx Its one of the reason why the 360 has 3 3.2ghz cores.
