A free week of Xbox Live Gold. How about that? Following the free XBL Gold weekend, it's now time for Microsoft to offer XBL Silver members a full free week of Gold membership, sponsored by the sports giant Adidas, so nicely entitled "Xbox Live Football Free-for-All".
The purpose for this is to let XBL Silver members get their game on with EA's latest soccer installment in their FIFA series FIFA World Cup 2006, leading up to the Xbox Cup this summer. As if this wasn't enough, goodies will be available on the Xbox Live Marketplace for all gamers to download.

Halo Forerunner rumours still kicking
Submitted By: Lost Alley
12 Apr 2006 11:36 | Xbox 360
The next instalment of the Halo series will be called Forerunner after all, according to the latest issue of US games mag Game Informer. You may remember that last month we reported Game Informer had claimed Forerunner would be the title for Master Chief’s next-gen debut, and that the story had instantly been dismissed as anything from an April Fool’s gag to "BULLS**T", according to Bungie staffer Frankie. But in a move that’s brutally opened up the rumour like a nearly-healed gash, the latest issue of Games Informer is apparently standing behind their ‘scoop’. In fact, the writer claims that the Halo name will be dropped altogether, confusing shop assistants all over the world in one fell swoop. And that’s not all – Games Informer allegedly goes on to claim that a special splinter team within Bungie is currently working on an MMO game based within the Halo universe. Either the mag has a pretty special mole inside Bungie or the staff is smoking a pretty big crack pipe.
