Submitted By: News Bot
23 Jan 2006 07:01 | Xbox 360

Eurogamer.net popped in to EA recently to check on a few 360 games, and spent half an hour taking a look at the 360 version of Modern Combat, which is currently pre-beta and due out at the end of March. According to EA, the graphics have been completely redone. Speed boost for PC and Xbox 360 online gaming
Submitted By: HyperBear
19 Jan 2006 07:22 | Xbox 360

Engadget noticed that two startups are putting together software that will allow apartment-dwellers to pool their DSL connections in order to improve overall bandwidth. Now you can keep those torrents going while you frag fools with split-second precision from across the map. Alternately, set up a Splitronic Broadband Aggregator to snag two WiFi connections out of the air and automatically balance your broadband usage across the connections.

Boosted by console CPUs, IBM posts quarter profits
Submitted By: HyperBear
19 Jan 2006 07:13 | Systems | Xbox 360 | Playstation 3 | Revolution

IBM is in a wonderful position - no matter who wins the next-generation "console wars," IBM comes out on top. If that was not good news enough, IBM's profits are sure to rise this year as Xbox 360 manufacturing continues vigorously (we hope, at least) and both Sony and Nintendo prep for their coming launches. IBM developed the Cell processor with Sony, so they have a stake in the PlayStation 3, and IBM is responsible for Revolution's "Broadway" CPU, reportedly launching before Thanksgiving this year. I'm not a stock broker, but I'd say IBM is going to have a pretty good year.
