Xbox 360 Camera Coming Soon
Submitted By: DragonFly
15 Feb 2006 08:15 | Xbox 360
The Xbox 360’s camera peripheral could be saying cheese sooner than we were expecting, if rumours from the game development community are to be believed. The camera was unveiled alongside the Xbox 360 at last year’s E3 in May, but we haven’t seen or heard anything about it since. However, reports have emerged that Microsoft has recently been showing it off to game developers, suggesting that we may only be a few months from having it sitting on top of our TVs.

15 Feb 2006 08:14 | Xbox 360
With its enormous, detailed world and go-anywhere, see-anything philosophy, there's plenty of reasons why The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is getting a lot of people very excited indeed - and that's not even touching on the fact it sports one of the most stunning RPG graphics engines we've ever seen. Believe or not, video game companies do try to keep mature subject matter out of reach from young children. Moore confirms the end (of the Xbox 360 shortage) is nigh
Submitted By: HyperBear
15 Feb 2006 07:32 | Xbox 360
In 4 to 6 weeks, if Peter Moore is to be believed, and the Xbox 360 shortage will be history. According to GameDaily BIZ, in his keynote speech at DICE, the unofficial Xbox 360 spokesperson "promised that within the next 4-6 weeks consumers would actually be able to walk into a store and easily purchase the new console."
Strong words, especially from someone in a position to make such a promise. We only hope he can keep his word, because we (some of the less fortunate Joystiq staffers) can only play that Call of Duty demo so many times on the 360 kiosks.

Xbox 360 shortage linked to memory chip
Submitted By: News Bot
14 Feb 2006 12:30 | Xbox 360
The shortage of Xbox 360 that left many holiday shoppers in angst was due in part to Microsoft's decision to use a new kind of memory chip from a German company, Infineon Technologies, according to people who are familiar with the game box's design. The Xbxo 360 has been hard to find on store shelves since it debuted in November only to sell out early during the holiday season, prompting complaints.
One of two companies supplying the Xbox 360's storage memory chips, Infineon, has had trouble making enough of the chips at the right speed for the game console that debuted last November, according to the sources. As a result Microsoft has not been able to meet the demand for the console.

Phantasy Star Online: 360 Bound?
Submitted By: 360Monster
14 Feb 2006 10:17 | Xbox 360
The good news for 360 owners comes in the form of a quote from Electronic Gaming Monthly.
"Roughly 250 hours - that's how much time The Q has logged on all the different versions of Phantasy Star Online. So yeah, you could say that I'm a tad bit excited for this summer's full-fledged sequel, Phantasy Star Universe. And now it seems that PS2 owners won't be the only ones losing their social life to this off-and-online role-playing game, as PSU will also arrive on the Xbox 360. Oh, one more thing: If you start playing the game on Sony's console, you will be able to transfer your online character - thanks to all stats and items being saved on Sega's servers - to the Xbox 360 version (which will hit a few months after the PS2 installment)."
